The Ocean

We could walk on long stretches of beach.
We checked out the resorts Melia and
Cojimar to the right and left of us.
The sand was soft and white and the
water warm.

Our Tower

The rooms in the resort are housed in a series
of three story towers each named for a city in Cuba.
Our room was on the second floor and faced the ocean.
There were six rooms to a floor. Mark and Kim
were across the hall from us. Both rooms were
identical. Each had a balcony! Notice that we
had a cross on the decal marking our building!!!!

Cuban Holiday

The gardens were beautiful.
They were lush and very
well looked after.

Home from Cuba

We have recently returned from a very relaxing
holiday at the Iberostar Daquiri Resort in Cuba.
We experienced wonderful warm sunshine in
a lovely setting. This is the entrance to the
hotel.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!!!
We have had a very restful holiday season. My brother
Greg had hoped to join us on Christmas Eve but came
down with a bad bug and decided to stay in Regina.
We did have the downstairs guest room ready and
waiting. I painted the downstairs bathroom a pristine white
and we found a great bargain on a new mirror.
We can actually accommodate EIGHT guests at a time.
We look forward to having many visitors in 2007!!!!!
Christmas Eve we attended service in Foam Lake at
4:00 in the afternoon. Christmas Day we invited the
new owners of Teddy's Cafe to join us for dinner. They
just took over the running of the restaurant the first
week of December and had moved here from Edmonton.
A very interesting couple, they had spent five years in
Rankin Inlet.
Wednesday Greg decided that he would come to
Theodore from Regina for lunch...it was good to see him.
That evening our neighbors came for supper. We were eight
in all and it was our plan to all sit down and eat together. So
we took two folding tables and placed them end to end in the living
room. Everyone helped themselves to the food set out on the
round pedestal table that resides in the kitchen. It really seemed
like Christmas to share a meal with new friends.
Presently we are looking for our summer togs as next week we will be
in Cuba!!!! We will spend a few days in Ontario catching up with Glen's
brothers and their families. There are three new babies for us to cuddle.
Glen has taken the car to Yorkton to have the "Service
Engine Light"dilemna sorted out and my mandate is to take down
the Christmas tree and start putting away the Santas.
When we return in February Glen has committed to a part time
ministry. He will be looking after a three point parish....250 km on
a Sunday!!!!!
2007 could be a very interesting year!!!!
