Stow 'n' Go

Getting in and out of the Taurus had always been a challenge for Glen. Add the slippery snow and ice that winter brings and it became a true ordeal. So we decided to look around for a replacement vehicle that had a little higher seating. Other people test drive vehicles...Glen was test sitting. The other challenge was
head room as he is quite tall through the torso. After lots of test sits the vans won out and the Stow 'n' Go in particular. We purchased it in Wynyard. It will seat seven and the seats all disappear to make room for a sheet of plywood. How versatile is that!!!!! We love the colour ...we will certainly be seen as we cruise
down the highway. It even boasts a DVD player.

Lobraico Visit

Our niece Kim and her husband Mark have
created quite a stir in Theodore. They journeyed
from Ontario in their Smart Car. It uses diesel
fuel and gets an incredible number of kilometres
per litre. Everyone that drives by the house
slows down for a second look.
We have so enjoyed having Mark and Kim with
us. They arrived in time for Steak Night at
the pub on Friday. Saturday we went to the
local rink for the Spring Rummage Sale and came
away with lots of novels for summer reading.
Sunday they joined us for the service in Foam
Lake. Sunday evening Kim and I took a trip
down memory lane via the Photo Albums.
Mark is very technical and managed to set the
remote for our fireplace and solve my tipping
dilemna with the dishwasher. Guests like these
are hard to come by.

Malinowski Farm

The Malinowski farm is close to Theodore.
The snow is melting....spring has come.
We were treated to great neighborly hospitality.

Kindersley Road Trip

On Tuesday we set out on an adventure to visit Aunt Lu and Uncle Murray in Kindersley.
Of course the day was cold and snowy. We thought we might save some time by
travelling Highway 15 and found to our dismay that part of it was totally washed away and
the road was closed. The detour was not well marked but intuitive navigating by Glen on
the grid side roads brought us out by the town of Simpson and we picked up the highway
again for the rest of the journey. It was full of very deep pot holes, very wet and slippery...
in fact we ploughed snow for quite a few kilometres. We did arrive in one piece and had
a great visit with the Benders. My cousin Gloria stopped in for coffee and cousin Monty
came for supper. We checked out the new Walmart and bought asparagus plants and rhubarb
for the garden. Glen got Sweet Pea seeds as well...always had those as a little girl....they were
my Mom's favorite flower.

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

The Lord is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!!!!

It has been a busy Easter Season in Quillview Parish.
Holy Week wasn't quite as Wholly Exhausting as it has
been some years but there were lots of kilometres involved
getting to the various services.
On Good Friday The Way of the Cross was well received
in Wynyard with 41 people in attendance.

In March Bishop Rod Andrews and his wife Jacqueline
were over night guests. The Bishop presided at the
Celebration of New Ministry held at a joint service
in St. Margaret's, Wynyard. Glen said it may have
been more aptly titled a Celebration of Retreading
for Ministry!!!!

Sadly our Phantom Tabi Cat in Halifax was struck
by a car a few weeks ago. We are so glad that she
found two families to love and care for her
in her short but eventful life.

The prairie is taking on a spring look. The white white
snow in the fields is disappearing and there is a lot of
water standing in the ditches. The snow has been melting
slowly which is probably a good thing. The sky has been
black with returning ducks and geese along the flyway.
There is hope that the transition between winter and
spring will be relatively short. We are looking forward to
see if the bulbs and lilies in the front planter will bloom
and grow.

The income tax is finally nearing completion. Very
complicated this year!!!! Its preparation required
many hours. I highly recommend Tax Tips for
Dummies....need I say more!!!Our return is about
ready to print and mail. You can probably hear
my shouts of joy across the country.
