The Brush Pile

And yet another
project accomplished!
There is a little shed
at the garden plot
across the street that
desperately needed
a coat of paint!!! It
needed to be scraped
and Doris decided to
make it her project.
However it was also
surrounded by many
overgrown trees.
Not anymore!!! Doris
and Mitchell cut down
a WHOLE dump truck
full of little trees and
branches!!!!! Dave and
Jim from the village
office loaded it up and
away it went. You can
now SEE the shed and
it has a new coat of paint
TOO!!!!Thanks Doris
and Mitchell!!!!!!

Mitchell the Chef

We have thoroughly
enjoyed Doris and
Mitchell's visit. We did
some travelling and
accomplished many things
in Theodore. Mitchell
fixed the wobbly wheel on
the lawn mower, replaced
missing bolts on the
rototiller, mowed the
lawn, weed wacked, repaired
the bed frame and he is a
chef too!!!!

One Step Closer to a Completed Deck

Somehow our guests feel
the need to get involved
in our ongoing renovations!!!
Doris is renewing the wrought
iron railing that will
eventually surround the
deck. The stain for the
floor portion has been
back ordered!!!!One step
at a time seems to be
the story of the deck!!!!

Rocky Mountain Marathon

Our sister-in-law Doris and
our nephew Mitchell arrived
by train from Ontario on Sunday
evening. Monday morning
we whisked them away on a
marathon tour of the mountains.
The stops included Jasper,
the Columbia Icefields, Banff
and the Drumheller Badlands!!!
Andrew, our son, thought it was
a very ambitious itinerary!!!!
The sun came out at Lake Louise
and the turquoise water glistened
and danced in the beams. The
mountains were spectacular.
The flat prairies provide a real
contrast. In Banff we found
the perfect picnic spot!!!!

Fancy Schmancy Rain Barrel

Last fall the snow caught us
unawares.The temperature
dropped drastically
overnight and the contents
of the rain barrel froze and
cracked the plastic.
It was your economy garage
sale model. While looking for
a replacement, Glen came
across this deluxe model. He
cleverly positioned it on top
of the old rain barrel so
it is very accessible.
The top has a screen so to
deter mosquitos and leaves.

Carrying on the Tradition

When I was a little girl
my Mom always had a
row of sweet peas beside
the playhouse that Dad
built for us. Each day
we would pick her a
bouquet for the kitchen
table. In May I planted
a row of sweet peas. They
have poked their way
through the soil and
hopefully we will soon have
blossoms to adorn our table.

New Blooms

The Iris we planted just
before the snow flew last
fall are blooming. Royal
purple buds will follow
shortly.
